A wood typeface carried by British manufacturers. Shown by Harrild & Sons as Fancy Runic in an all-caps 10-line size [c.1890 specimen]. Stephenson Blake had a Runic Grotesque in three widths, all with lowercase [1937 specimen]. Caslon also listed Runic Grotesque in wood in three widths [c.1915 specimen].

Face Photosetting had a phototype adaptation as Runic Grot Shaded, with outlined letterforms of which the lower halves are solid, in three all-caps widths [Face c.1981].

WTC Banger (2012) and MPI No. 507 (2013) are digital interpretations of this design, both without lowercase. The former is narrower, with grunged letterforms.
