Wow 2 is a live album by Japanese experimental noise rock band Boredoms, produced by John Zorn and released in October 1993 on his Avant Records.

The cover uses Zuzana Licko’s Totally Gothic caps – stretched by roughly 130%, and outlined to make them quite a bit heavier. The colorful stripes around the type are also all outlines of Totally Gothic, I am counting at least 25 stroke applications.

The stroke treatment makes Totally Gothic look a bit like graffiti – an unexpected transformation!

These flyers for the T.T Block arcade video game were issued by Taito in 1977. The name is shown in a two-color setting using the “Highball” variant of Eightball by Alphabet Innovations. The Japanese Maru Gothic is unidentified.

Artwork for Catch-Wave, an album of solo improvisations for violin, electronics, and voice by Fluxus artist Takehisa Kosugi. The cover features a vibrating op art treatment of a photo by Tamotsu Fujii designed by Aritsune Terada & Shizuo Ishizuka. Released on CBS/Sony Records in 1975.

The title is set in caps from the left-leaning Alfereta. The artist’s name uses Futura Bold.

“Sounds speeding on lights” appears to be Trade Gothic. The other fonts on the back cover including the Japanese ones are unidentified.

Yamasa’s Planet T “Pachislo” slot machines use Stack for the logo.

The E.T.-themed model shown above additionally uses Broadway and Futura for the “Medal” labels, Eurostile for “Bar” and “Stop”, and oblique Helvetica caps for “You are champion / Have a good time / Good luck”.

The Super Planet T Type-A shown below features Revue for the logo extensions. “Super Bonus” is in Chromium One, “Bonus Game” and “Stop” in Futura Black, “Medal(s)” in Hawthorn, “Start”, “Medal In” etc. in Optima, “Bar” in ITC Souvenir, and “Super Bonus” in Eurostile. The inline numerals are probably custom (based on a bold extended Helvetica?). All Japanese fonts are unidentified. [edit: according to commentator A, these are Sūbo, Gona, Nāru, and Ishii Gothic.]
