Parsons

Designed in 1917 by Will Ransom. In 1918, Italic and Bold styles were added. Parsons Swash Initials were designed by Sidney Clyde Gaunt [McGrew 1993]. Comes with oversize ascenders and descenders, as well as alternates for ‘AMNT’.

Digital interpretations include AI Parsons (Inna Gertsberg and Susan Everett, Alphabets, Inc., three weights, 1994), Puritan (Dieter Steffmann, 2000), and Parsnip NF (Nick’s Fonts, 2004). See also OPTI Puritan Bold Flair (Castcraft, 1990–1991, based on Richard Flair).
