Nick Curtis’ design is an interpretation of the many phototype-era variations on Prisma. With names such as Prismania, Bauhaus Prisma, and Prisma Graphic, these families offered styles with assorted heavy lines and filled-in white spaces, while also offering alternate lettershapes based on other Bauhaus-inspired type of the day.
Pentaprism comes in five styles. The basic one has 5 lines, like Prismania. The uppercase is angular (as in Futura Prisma & Prisma Graphic — but with a non-splayed ‘M’), the lowercase holds round caps (as in Bauhaus Prisma & Prisma Bauhaus).
