A 1960s face made for VGC. Came in Light, SemiBold, Bold, Black, Modernized Gothic. [Devroye]
Digitally revived by Roger Hartley as Rathskeller (Silver Graphics, before 1995; 1 light weight), by Malcolm Wooden as Rustikalis DT (DTP Types, 2007; 4 weights plus obliques), and by Nick Curtis as Chiselle NF (Nick’s Fonts, 2015).
In comparison to Rustikalis Modernized Gothic as shown in Phil’s Photo catalog and on Chartpak dry transfer sheets, Rustikalis DT Light (used for the sample) is narrower. Chiselle NF has the right width, but is different in several details, most notably in ‘m n r x M S V W X 5’. These deviations may be due to alternates included in the original.
