Designed by Wilhelm Berg and first cast by Schriftguss in 1937, with Kräftige Splendor a.k.a. Halbfett added in 1939 [Wetzig 1926–40]. Funtimod had this design as Fluente [Reichardt 2011]. Schriftkartei Typoart lists three styles incl. a Fett, all with a 1930 date.
Two weights have been digitized by Ralph M. Unger: the Fett as Splendor Medium (profonts, 2009) and the Regular as Splendor Pro (RMU, 2014, used for the sample). The original alternates for ‘AMNSZ’ were incorporated in both styles, the alternate ‘z’ is available only in the latter.
