Zierschrift Thalia is an extension to Zierschrift Juno, with “peculiar letterforms added”, namely swash caps and a few swash lowercase alternates (e.g. descending c, e, k, s). Both were issued in 1894. For sizes from 84pt upwards, Thalia was named Nymphe. Nola is a wider poster cut. [S&G Plakatschriften, 1926]
Once available from various phototype sources incl. Photo-Lettering (with alternate caps) and Berthold (shown in E1 with plain lowercase plus swash caps only). Also carried by Letraset and Mecanorma.
Digital revivals include Thaleia by Harold Lohner (Harold’s Fonts, 2002–05) and Thalia by Ralph M. Unger (originally for URW++ FontForum, later transferred to profonts, 2006).
