Designed by Franz Heigemeir [Reichardt/Hoefer] and released in 1972 by VGC in four weights. [VGC 1973] Copied by Castcraft as Ogden (all four weights) [Castcraft 1978]. Copied by Lettering Inc. as Mode [c.1975 catalog].

Several early digital foundries did incomplete and largely pretty sloppy revivals of Modula: Castcraft (as OPTI Ogden, 1990–1991, Bold only), Casady & Greene / Software Complement (as Kasse FLF, 1992, Regular, Bold, Extrabold), NovelFonts (as Obbsidda, 1994, Bold only), and Keystrokes (as Modularity, Extrabold only).
