By Aldo Novarese. Released by Nebiolo in 1966 as foundry type in two styles, nera compatta and ultra-nera [Reichardt 2011]. The former was produced by Reber for their R41 dry transfer brand since 1971, together with the outlined Unipol.
Press Gothic (Canada Type, 2007) is an interpretation of the nera compatta and is used for the sample.
In 2020, Reber R41 released another digital version, made with help of Fulvio Bisca and Onice Design. R41 Metropol is based on both Novarese’s design and Nebiolo’s adaptation.
