Cut by punchcutter Louis Hoell in six styles (three upright weights, one italic, one bold condensed, and a grau – “grey”, i.e. diagonally hatched) and first cast by Flinsch in 1913/1914 (and later by Bauer). Of the numerous typefaces that Hoell cut in his career, Tages-Antiqua is the only one that is also credited to him as a designer [Reichardt/Hoefer]. Distributed by Neufville under the name Antigua Mercedes [Typerepublic]. Three styles (roman, italic, bold) also sold by Warnery as Cyrano [Reichardt].
