Philadelphia Lining Gothic
(Sample unavailable)

Cut by William Jackson [Loy]. Released by MacKellar, Smiths & Jordan around 1895.

Notable at the time for its many styles and weights. ATF continued to cast the family until the early 1900s, then replaced these faces with News, Alternate, and Franklin Gothic. In 1912 Monotype copied one style which lasted much longer. [McGrew 1993]
