Designed by Gustave Schroeder for Central Type Foundry [ATF 1895–96], 1883 [Mullen]. Alternates for ‘wAEHKR’ [Reichardt 2011] but also ‘v’ and possibly more. Includes ornaments and an “and” catchword. The smaller sizes are noticeable wider than the larger ones.
Phototype adaptations by Photo-Lettering as Hogarth [PLINC 1971] and by Lettergraphics as Royal Ornate [Lettergraphics 1968–1975].
Revived (quite hastily) by Dan X. Solo as Hogarth Antique (Solotype, 1998), which is used for this sample.
