The posters were screen-printed at the university studio.

Enpen Teien Shokukaku (縁辺庭苑小区画; “A small plot in a peripheral garden”) was a performance by the student group Tosok from Tama Art University in Hachioji, Tokyo. The event took place at SCHOOL in Mitaka, Tokyo. I designed the poster and flyer for the performance, featuring a layout that mixes an extensive variety of fonts.

For the large Japanese title on the poster, the fonts Iwata Fuku Marugo, Iwata Mincho, Wapuro Mincho, and Gothic MB101 are layered together. The small English title uses Tsukurimashou.

In the smaller text sections, I paired Japanese and English fonts as follows: Chu Gothic BBB with Lo-Res, Tsukushi A MaruGothic with VAG Rounded, and Tsukushi A Old Mincho with Garamond Premier.

The layout for the inside of the flyer repeats the same information while varying the typography. In addition to the poster’s fonts, I incorporated pairs such as DNP Shuei ShogoMincho with Didot, HanaKocho with Garamond Premier, and Midashi Go MB31 with Univers Next.

The flyers are offset printed and have a half-fold format.

This is the single by Japanese singer-songwriter Meiko Nakahara titled “Tsukiyo Ni Ki Wo Tsukete!” (月夜に気をつけて!). The Japanese sans-serif on the front cover is Midashi Gothic MB101 (見出ゴシックMB101) by Morisawa. This is quite a rare typeface to be used considering Shaken dominated the typesetting scene during the late Showa period.

At the back cover, the overall Japanese serif text is set in an oldstyle (オールドスタイル) variant of Ishii Mincho (石井明朝). The Japanese sans-serif text is Ishii Gothic (石井ゴシック), and the English instruments mentioned in the musicians section are set in Gothic No.2. All typefaces used at the back cover are made by Shaken.

ITC Avant Garde Gothic Condensed is used for the title of Sonomama Sonomama (そのまま そのまま; English: “As it is, as it is”).

Beuys+Palermo is the title of an exhibition organized by Toyota Municipal Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art in Saitama, and the National Museum of Art in Osaka.

Ambiant Sans is used together with an unidentified Japanese typeface for both the exhibition posters and collateral as well as for the display type in the catalog. From book seller Do You Read Me?!:

This catalogue accompanies an exhibition by the same name held in 2021 in three venues across Japan. Joseph Beuys and Blinky Palermo were from different generations, but both experienced WWII and the postwar reconstruction, as teacher and pupil. The works of these two superficially contrasting German artists were alike in that both Beuys and Palermo endeavoured to restore art to the status of a raw, live endeavour. The fashionable appearance of Vogue Japan’s website is especially due to the use of Miller Display for headlines, Avenir for section headings and subheadings as well as Gothic MB101 and Hiragino Kaku Gothic for Japanese text.
