Een boek vol huizen is a book that playfully explores extraordinary houses from around the world, published by Lannoo Publishers.

In his distinct geometric style, Pieter Van Eenoge illustrates the history of building and living. His colourful illustrations are complemented by Julie de Graaf’s insightful writing, which describes the world of innovative architects and ancient building traditions. The book covers a wide range of architectural structures, from traditional igloos and futuristic dome houses to stilt houses in Myanmar and Dutch houseboats.

The book was designed by Bureau BoschBerg, using Monopol by Nguyen Gobber for the cover and titles and Value Sans by Colophon Foundry for all further running text.

Albert Penn is an agency with creativity at its heart, producing inspiring and authentic content for businesses with stories worth telling. The company was founded by three brothers who have since then worked with clients such as Vogue, American Express, Warner Music Group, and Levi’s. When the time came to create a narrative of their own, they invited us to help tell their story through a new brand and website.

The visual identity is based on the company’s values: creativity, optimism, and family. For the brand, we selected a family of typefaces, Value Sans and Value Serif, that helped us display both kinship and diversity in every brand application. We used a warm yellow as a summary of optimism and possibility, displayed in the company’s work, ranging from heartfelt interviews to people-focused portraiture and candid videos. We designed and developed a website as an easily navigable library where their work drives the plot, and tells the stories within.

The new identity and website empowered Albert Penn to authentically represent their business, confidently showcase their work, and proudly tell great stories.

Mýty v nás a kolem nás (“Myth in Us and Around Us”) was initiated as an e-mail conversation between the authors and lately transformed into a book format with original illustrations by Slovak artist Kristian Stupak and art direction from Studio M Nedved.

The texts were composed between March 2021 and March 2022 as a result of mostly e-mail based communication between the co-authors and close collaborators. During this period of time, the Covid pandemic was replaced by a pandemic of war madness after Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. The authors were drawn into the event from the first moment, aware of its fundamental and historical character. The central motif of their reflections are national myths and prejudices.

The Literatuurmuseum is the digital equivalent of the Letterkundig Archief, or ‘Literature Archive’, and a revolution in the museum world. We are responsible for the creative direction of the brand, the online strategy and the website, and continue to devise digital exhibitions as a way to present new discoveries from the archive. The concept of Literatuurmuseum is created by Stichting Nederlands Literatuurmuseum and Literatuurarchief, and Huygens Insitituut voor Nederlandse Geschiedenis (KNAW).

The Literatuurmuseum was looking for a new way to display its archive digitally. The books are simply too fragile to be handled by everyone. And who wants to get lost in a dusty archive anyway? We were asked to build a website and develop creative concepts to tell these stories online. We presented one literary treasure at a time, inviting print enthusiasts to get lost in the online world, and appointed contemporary writers, or curators, to guide visitors through works from the past. By taking the lead in art direction of the strategic campaigns, we were able to generate a lot of attention for the online museum.

The design pairs texts, photographs of artefacts and – partially commissioned – portraits of Dutch authors (see also a book about the museum’s author portraits collection) and presents them in a neatly arranged blocks in bright, warm colors.

The typography follows the same idea of opposites. The sleek Value Sans is used for the logo, and warmth is represented by headlines set in Windsor (Bold and Regular). Running texts, quotes and navigational items use Merriweather and Theinhardt.

Untitled Artists is a style agency which was formed in early 2013, the agency represents some of the best hairstylists, make up artists and fashion stylists in the industry working with leading publications such as Wonderland, i-D, Rollacoaster, Dazed & Confused and Ponystep and brands including French Connection, ASOS, Jigsaw, House Of Fraser and Fenwicks.

Rosie – AKA Bristol’s best Cheesemonger – was taking a leap. Turning a part time passion into a full time business, with a new shop opening on St Nicholas Street. We needed to create an identity that would do the new brand and amazing cheese justice. A shopfront that people would notice and be drawn towards.

Setting up a simple identity system including the main stacked marque, alternate barrel version and all boiling down to a strong and recognisable cheese triangle motif. This doubles up as a strong direction graphic to signpost the shop.

Stationery and printed collateral was produced, together with stickers to be applied to the wrapped cheese. We worked with sign painter Simon Memel to handpaint all signs on site, adding a more crafted finish to what was a simple design and identity.

Dr Will (Breaky) is a real doctor, with a belief that prevention is better than cure. He decided that if people were going to be pouring sauce onto their meals, it should be a healthy addition rather than a sugary one. In a joint effort by Breaky and restaurateur Josh Rose, Dr Will's enterprise was formed.

We created the positioning, identity and packaging for the Dr Will's range. The big message to get across was that this is about sauce that still tastes great. It's made using just natural ingredients, and none of the normal refined sugars. We introduced the copy line ‘A healthy dose of flavour’ to strengthen Dr Will's position — and to make sure this message is delivered in a memorable way.

The logo and all text are set in Value and Value Serif, a typeface family by Colophon Foundry that consist of 7 sans serif weights (Value) and a single serif font (Value Serif).

A unique e-commerce experience by Danish design agency Kontrapunkt highlights Danish fashion label Carcel’s responsible and transparent take on designing and manufacturing sustainable fashion.

Kontrapunkt admires brands that contribute to a better world which is why we are thrilled to work with Danish fashion label Carcel whose mission is to break the cycle of poverty for incarcerated women.

Benji Knewman is a man, around 40 years old. He’s trying to be genuine, and it seems he sometimes manages. Just like his grandfather who used to say: “Ben, how you spend your day is how you spend your life!” Currently Benji Knewman is more everywhere than anywhere. Mostly on the road. He’s still in search of his own perfect day. While looking for it, he curates a biannual bookazine telling stories about people who don’t pretend and who can simply be. Covering a myriad of vocations and lifestyles, as well as geographical locations, they’re living proof that you don’t have to be conventional to have a good life.
