English Monotype’s Italian Old Style (Series 108) is based on William Morris’s Golden Type. Produced for publisher J.M. Dent soon after World War I [The Monotype Chronicles] or in 1912, in roman and italic. A bolder weight (series 149) was added in 1922, sourced from Typefoundry Amsterdam. [Gill 2020]

Not to be confused with the typeface of the same name designed by F. Goudy in 1924 for Lanston Monotype (Series 243, see LTC Italian Old Style).
