Designed by Richard A. Schlatter and shown VGC in three weights in a 1972 feature. A fourth one, Ultra Bold, followed soon after. Compact alternates for ‘M’ and ‘W’ for the three bolder weights [Typeshop 1973].

Copied by Castcraft under the alias Eton [Castcraft 1978]. Formatt offered a version for dry transfer lettering called Diplomat Bold. [Formatt 1978]
