disputed: Typoart’s Musterkartei DIN 16507 indicates
1931, but Fundamental does not appear in
Klimschs Jahrbuch before 1939.
Announced in 1938 as Atlantik. This name might
have been reconsidered because of Woellmer’s Atlantis-Grotesk (1931). A
1938 ad mentions one and a
1940 ad four weights (mager, halbfett, dreiviertelfett, fett),
with the schmalfett being in preparation.
All styles have alternate forms for M (splayed)
and S (narrow).
