First cast by Ludwig & Mayer as Jost-Mediaeval with Jost-Kursiv in 1927. A halbfett (bold) followed in 1929. Newly cast in 1955 and renamed to Aeterna [Reichardt 2011] [Schriftenkartei 1958–1971].
An all-caps version of the regular was available from VGC as Aeterna. Berthold had a phototype adaptation as Aeterna in normal, italic, and halbfett styles [Probe 125] [Berthold 1988].
There are various inofficial digitizations incl. AdrianoOpti (Castcraft, regular), Aetna (BigFont/FontBank, early 1990s, all three styles), Aesop (SoftMaker, 1995), AeroDB (Christine Mauerkirchner and Rainer Grunert). See AL Radiolar (Alex Lescieux) for a more ambitious interpretation.
