The title treatment for The Fantastic Four: First Steps was first teased in 2024 by Marvel Studios for its feature film scheduled for cinematic screening in 2025.

With the conscious choice to reintroduce adding “the” before “Fantastic” and a nod to the earlier comics of the Fantastic Four series, this main title is typeset in DJR’s Condor Compressed Medium Italic with modified letters F and c in “Fantastic”.

The new number 4 logo design also present on the Fantastic Four hero uniforms takes sole presence, omitting a redundant use of the word “Four” in the titles as they have been presented in the title treatment’s history so far.

Above the main title we see the Marvel logo placed with the word “STUDIOS” set in Jason Walcott's Hooligan JF. Below we see the subtitle “FIRST STEPS” set in a slanted version of Jens Gehlhaar's FF Neuwelt Inline.

Branding for Leeds Christmas Markets for 2023 seemed mainly centred around signboards of various forms, a few examples of which are pictured here.

Bely Display is used for titles with Brother 1816 used at both display and text sizes. Both find use as random design elements as well.

The market was organised as a tie-up between Leeds City Council and Marketplace Europe, although the specifics of the designer(s) are unknown.

Dynamic Wealth Group is a forward-thinking financial firm launching their new mutual fund. We created a series of three websites for them, building on their existing brand. Our design drew inspiration from their logo, using animated data curves and gradients to flesh out Dynamic’s modern look. These visual elements work with icons and data visualization solutions to guide visitors’ journeys, adding a fluid, contemporary edge to the brand. This synergy of design and technology fortifies Dynamic's path towards future growth and innovation.

The novel Die Erinnerung an unbekannte Städte by Simone Weinmann was published by Verlag Antje Kunstmann in September 2021. The book jacket uses Brother 1816. On the front, it’s featured in italic caps set on an angle, with the author’s name integrated into the image. The brush script is Akod.

Inside, it uses Adobe’s Garamond Premier for the body copy, Brandon Grotesque for the chapter heads, and the cormorant-shaped floral heart of Cormorant Infant as a separator.

I had been wondering when Hoefler & Co.’s Decimal would see some high-profile usage since its release in September 2019; nearly a year later it seems this qualifies as “high-profile.”

Seemingly now the typographers of politics, Hoefler worked directly with Robyn Kanner, Senior Creative Advisor to the Biden campaign for the campaign’s typography identity. Kanner comments on the typeface choices:

Decimal finds its roots in wristwatches – it’s true as time. Mercury, with its roots in the written word. Put simply, our typography is bound by the truth.

Jonathan Hoefler elaborates on the assigned roles of the sans and the serif:

Words of action would be set in Decimal’s declarative small capitals, while the supporting syntax would rely on Mercury Text Grade Four.
