First cast by Schelter & Giesecke in 2 weights in 1938. A bold condensed style was added in 1939. There is also a set of decorated caps (Zierversalien). [Klingspor-Museum]
Gerhard Helzel’s digitization (1997–2009, used for the sample) includes all 3 styles and the decorated caps. The Regular and Bold are provided in 2 optical sizes. Also distributed by Delbanco and Lindenthal. Dieter Steffmann’s Fette Thannhäuser (2001) is an unbalanced digitization of the Bold only. Ralph M. Unger’s Thannhaeuser Fraktur (RMU, 2013) is a “redesign” of the Regular.
