First cast by Schelter & Giesecke in two weights in 1938. A bold condensed style was added in 1939. There is also a set of decorated caps (Zierversalien) [Reichardt/Hoefer].
Gerhard Helzel’s digitization (1997–2009, used for the sample) includes all three styles and the decorated caps. The Regular and Bold are provided in two optical sizes. Also distributed by Delbanco and Lindenthal. Dieter Steffmann’s Fette Thannhäuser (2001) is an unbalanced digitization of the Bold only. Ralph M. Unger’s Thannhaeuser Fraktur (RMU, 2013) is a “redesign” of the Regular.
