Launched by the CANA Foundation, Generation Cana is —

a concept by an established conservationist who wants to popularise and inspire a new and diverse generation of Americans to fall in love with their natural landscapes and support rewilding – of their own worldviews, and of the lands they live on.

The Cana Foundation (CF) supports research, policy and action to support the wellbeing of horses and burros in North America, and the role they play in America’s iconic prairie and grassland ecosystems. With strong connections to first nations communities and the nexus of social justice and environmental issues, CF’s founder wanted to reach more people and inspire a new audience to take action in ways that went beyond specific policy solutions.

The graphic identity was designed by Studio Chenchen with a range of new logos to promote the foundation through various printed and digital media. Studio Chenchen comments:

The brand concept, Love Songs to America, is based on revitalising North American Romanticism.

Its visual language draws on iconic precedents in North American naturalism that we updated to reach modern, urban audiences. An internal brand manifesto was established to crystalise the brand’s purpose, tone of voice and personality, along with a set of illustrative templates, design applications, and targeted messaging to demonstrate how the brand can be applied to achieve the clients goals.

Stubs are pre-made strong cocktails, sold in cans. The brand distinguishes itself by the high amount alcohol per can (25% alc. by vol) and by the small format of its cans.

To convey this idea of a strong drink in a small receptacle, Best Studio created a very strong and colorful design composed of overlapped fonts with strong colors and the information added as a golden overlay. Although the logo is set in NaN Jaune Maxi Black, the name of the brand also appears as a pattern background on every can, this time set in Digestive, both typefaces designed by Jérémy Landes and sold in their earlier stages through Future Fonts where they might have been ordered around the same time. A lighter weight of Jaune Maxi is used to set the cocktail names and their description, while Lucas Sharp’s Sharp Sans serves the body copy.

Pauli & Sisters is a family-owned skincare brand based in California whose main product is a plant-based Repair Serum that boosts cell and collagen production, eases inflammation, heals scarring, and evens the hyper-pigmentation and circulation to the skin. The brand’s packaging uses a mix of Sharp Sans, Beatrice, and Cooper BT. The logotype uses the extra bold capitals from Sharp Sans and pulls the whimsical, light-weight ampersand from Cooper to contrast.

The Royal Danish Theater in Copenhagen launched a rebrand using Sharp Type’s Sharp Sans. It is used as primary typeface for print, web, OOH, and digital communications.
