The regular and the halbfett were simultaneously issued as
Consul Grotesk II. This set additionally included Art
Nouveau alternates with more diagonals (‘emnsK’), curved middle
bars (‘EH’) and diagonals (‘NR’), a spurless ‘u’, an ‘A’ with top
bar, and more.
The Gutenberg foundry in Riga had Consul I (as
Venus) and Consul II (as Mars), each in
both weights, with Cyrillic. Jeżyńskiego in Warsaw has Konsul
I, in both weights plus a third heavier one, Konsul
czarny. Versions of Consul I were also sold by
ldźkowski/Orgelbranda (as Konsul), Beaudoire (later by
Peignot & Fils; as Antiques maigres larges), Bertrand
(as Antique légères), Doublet (as Antiques
Artistiques), Fondografica (Varese).
Consul II
was available from Gallico (as Serie Cornelia),
Fondografica (as Legnano), Ardinghi (as
Minerva), Società Urania (as Serie
