Initiated during the CAS Type Design course at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), Alena was first shown in 2011 in 2 weights plus italics on abc litera. Released with Lazydogs in July 2017 as LD Alena, now expanded to 8 weights plus italics. A remastered version with extended character set was released with Nouvelle Noire in July 2019 as NN Alena.
