Take a trip down memory lane with this richly illustrated coffee table book, The Last Dreamers by Anna Ullman, celebrating the anniversary of Roskilde Festival – the largest music and arts festival in Northern Europe. Relive musical memories and star performances from the last 50 years, and learn more about the culture and the significant impact the festival has had on Danish culture and life.

The book, published by Gads Forlag, analyses how Roskilde Festival, as a self-proclaimed festival of beliefs and attitudes, has developed the ideals from the youth rebellion. The minimalistic grid and design system creates space for the images to stand out, whilst beautifully expressing the history of the Roskilde Festival in a meaningful and impactful way.

Design agency e-Types chose Du Nord and ID00 Serif for the typography.

Exhibition poster.

In this type-only design for Daniel Buren’s exhibition at the STUDIO theater in Warsaw, designer Kuki Krzysztof Iwanski takes advantage of type and scale to deliver an impactful poster with little more than the artist’s name.

“Buren” stands front and center in the design, occupying nearly the entire height of the poster, and allowing my typeface Fit to live up to its name and fit itself to the available space. Du Nord supports the design with the exhibition title and supporting text in the brochure.

I was especially excited to see the banners hanging between the theater’s columns, where both first and last name occupy the same width.
