By Alexander Kay for MacKellar, Smiths & Jordan, 1884. [Canada Type] The series spans Ronaldson Old Style, Extended (c.1885), Condensed (before 1889), and Title Slope (before 1891) [Reichardt 2011]. Ronaldson Clarendon is a bolder style.
There are two digital interpretations, from Cercurius (as Fitzronald, 2003) and Canada Type (as Ronaldson, 2008 and Ronaldson Pro, 2021). The latter (used for sample) is the much more complete, but lacks size-specific cuts which varied quite a bit in the original metal. It adds bold, italic, and other extras that didn’t exist in the original.
