Marshall Licht. While Stark was available in a ready-made shaded style named Stark Raving, the designer preferred to add a custom long shade. In the process, some of the rounded corners of the letterforms were cut, see especially O, C, A in the second line. Stark is a boxy sans in the tradition of gaspipe lettering. In its uppercase seen here with the minuscule construction for M and N, it resembles Futura Display. URW offers a digital version of Stark, covering its two solid styles.
