Le Concert de l’Hostel Dieu is an orchestra based in Lyon, France. Created by Franck-Emmanuel Comte in 1992, the ensemble has gained widespread recognition for its 70 to 90 annual performances, making it one of the leading players on the European baroque stage.

Their main actions defend the originality and specificity of baroque manuscripts kept in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region's libraries, testifying their close link with baroque Italy. They aim to make classical music accessible for all through collaborations, intergenerational events and partnerships with local associations.

In 2024, the Museum of the San Ramon Valley in Danville, California, became MuseumSRV. The rebrand used type as a bridge between the Valley’s past and its present younger, diverse community. We chose OH no Type Co.’s Fatface and Compadre for their mix of historical flair and modern charisma. We wanted something expressive enough to engage kids and families, yet refined enough for longtime supporters. Their bold curves and contrast brings warmth and friendliness to everything from exhibit titles to donor materials. Paired with a bright, Valley-inspired palette, the typefaces helped transform the museum’s voice into something fresh, welcoming, and alive. See more on the Small Forest website.

Two essential works by American historian Timothy Snyder, Bloodlands: Europe Between Hitler and Stalin and On Freedom, have been published in Ukraine by Choven in collaboration with Local History and the bookstore Sens.

Both titles, cornerstones of modern non-fiction, explore totalitarianism, violence, and the fragility of freedom in Europe’s twentieth century – topics that have gained renewed urgency amid Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine.

The Ukrainian editions are titled Криваві землі and Про свободу and were translated by Yulia Semenyuk and Galina Gerasim, respectively. Designed by Oksana Vaskiv, they merge historical gravity with contemporary visual clarity. The restrained layout and symbolic use of color evoke both archival precision and civic engagement – reflecting Snyder’s balance between moral reflection and analytical depth.

Typography enhances this duality: the covers feature Recht and Excentra, while the text is set in Georgia, Arsenal, Excentra, and Fiorina Title. The blend of classic and modern typefaces mirrors Snyder’s synthesis of historical research and public philosophy – academic yet profoundly human.

Lying in the Weeds is a 64-page book dedicated to decolonizing social injustice in war. The Guatemalan Civil War is infamous for the countless lives that were killed, tortured, and traumatized. Using my own family’s story, who fled in search of asylum, this book is an effort to preserve and share the testimonies of those who have been silenced.

The Normal Album is Will Wood’s third studio album, released July 10th, 2020. The album’s genres range from ska, punk, jazz, cabaret, surf rock, pop, and even doo-wop. The track “I / Me / Myself” is Will's most streamed song, after it went viral on TikTok and exponentially grew his popularity.

The Normal Album got a new mix after parting with one of the original album’s main producers. The new mix, The New Normal!, included three extra 2018 demo tracks, and a remaster of every song, each now paired with a sillier version of their original titles, except for the track “Love, Me Normally”. The New Normal! was released on August 9th, 2024.

The covers for The Normal Album and The New Normal! display both Will’s name and the album’s title in Georgia. Both album versions include a sticker in the bottom left corner with a silly commercial slogan saying various messages depending on the version.

The Normal Album has only had one version of the sticker on its album art, with the message “INCLUDES THE HIT SINGLE ‘LOVE, ME NORMALLY!’ AND MORE NEW, ORIGINAL SONGS!” displayed in stretched Sitka.

The New Normal! has had many different album covers, plausibly depending on the type of media it’s consumed through. It and the very elusive 2023 Edit use Times New Roman for their slogans.

Moving Mountains is the first institutional solo exhibition of Saudi artist Ahaad Alamoudi, held between May and October 2024 at Hayy Jameel, an art center located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

This ambitious new work continues Alamoudi’s expansive exploration of rapidly changing social and cultural environments, situating Saudi’s natural and urban landscapes as sites of possibility – punctured by effort and powered by fantasy – where both individual and collective attempts to do the seemingly impossible are imbued with humour, absurdity and, at times, hopefulness.

The exhibition title is set in Michaux (with a few modified letters) for the Latin, and 29LT Okaso for the Arabic. The artist’s name is in Georgia Italic. All other text is set in Greta Text. The color palette or light grey and warm brown reflect the title of the show, with the addition of a subtle, neon green pattern.

Note the modified letters in Michaux: in Bold, the uppercase M is a thickened version of the Regular; in Light, M and n are altered versions of the original glyphs.

Inside Job Staff Biennale 2024 is an exhibition at Tate Modern, London organised by the Inside Job Collective. The project aims to highlight the creative work of Tate staff working across all departments of the museum.

The guidebook features reproductions of all 200 artworks submitted by Tate staff members, as well as documentation photography by Max Reeves. It was designed by Marjorie Dubois and Jed Fielder, and published by the museum itself.

The identity for the 2024 edition of the Staff Biennale was inspired by the typographic stencils used on shipping crates by installation staff behind the scenes. The design uses a bespoke condensed version of TateNew, alongside its Bold weight and Georgia.

Cal&Co is an event coordinating business whose mission is to make each client feel like they’re the only one she has. Calsi’s creativity and attention to detail ensure that every event she plans is trendy, luxurious, and unforgettable.

While Calsi’s business had been growing and evolving over the years, her brand had not. She came to us needing a visual identity to reflect her creative skills and the high-quality work she delivers to her clients.

The previous identity featured a bird, and as it was important to Calsi it was carried through into the new logo design, sitting upon the ampersand in her wordmark. The softness of the icon was balanced by geometric typography using General Sans as the main typeface – and vivid colours to ensure the brand remains contemporary and nuanced.

Trafik designed the visual identity including graphic charter, communication media, social networks and much more for Office national de diffusion artistique (Onda). This French institution promotes the dissemination of contemporary forms of performing arts through identification and expertise, network management, financial support and observation.

A customized ZIGZAG by Benoît Bodhuin is used for titling. The text typeface is Matthew Carter’s Georgia.

Kenshō Agency's identity for Solar Labs utilises a modification of Laif (New Letters) for the brand logotype, alongside extensive use of both HK Grotesk (Hanken Design Co) and Georgia Pro (Carter & Cone) throughout brand deliverables and communications.

Wordpress.org, launched on May 27, 2003, by its founders Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little, is a powerful and highly customizable content management system (CMS) that has revolutionised website development and management.

As an open-source platform, WordPress.org is free to use, modify and distribute, fostering a vibrant community of developers and contributors who are constantly improving its capabilities. Major releases over the years have introduced significant advancements such as custom post types, an improved admin interface, the REST API, and the innovative Gutenberg block editor, which allowed users to design pages with drag-and-drop ease.

The flexibility of the platform is one of its biggest strengths, as it offers thousands of themes and plugins to meet to various needs, from simple blogs and personal websites to complex e-commerce sites and enterprise portals. WordPress.org's scalability makes it suitable for any project size, handling everything from small personal blogs to high-traffic corporate websites. Its open-source nature ensures continuous improvements and innovations, driven by one of the largest and most active communities in the web development world. For the latest updates and developments, users can follow the news section, ensuring they stay informed about new features and best practices.

Gawker, the news and gossip website founded in 2002 by Nick Denton and which shut down in 2016, relaunched with a bold new design in July of 2021. The relaunch failed and was officially shut down in February 2023, but the site is still up (as of September 2023).

The redesign featured Etna X Condensed and Arial for display, and Georgia for text. The logo uses Sharp Grotesk Semibold 25.

H.D. Cleverdon, a family-run candlemaker in Ontario, Canada, draws inspiration from its founder's great-grandfather. This influence permeates their candle-making process and product names. They partnered with Toronto's Fook branding studio to create an identity reflecting candle quality, comfort, and their authentic story.

H.D. Cleverdon, beloved within the family, embodied warmth and care, traits integral to the company. Fook ensured his essence was genuinely captured by listening to anecdotes that highlighted his impact. The result is a brand that embodies top-notch candle craftsmanship, personality, and a distinct voice.

The logo features Romie, a display serif by Margot Lévêque, evoking confidence and sophistication with a touch of approachability. This choice emphasizes craftsmanship and warmth, supported by the serif typeface Georgia by Matthew Carter for smaller text.

Archive of Our Own (often shortened to AO3) is a nonprofit open source repository for fanfiction and other fanworks contributed by users. The site was created in 2008 by the Organization for Transformative Works and went into open beta in 2009. As of 28 November 2022, Archive of Our Own hosts 10,220,000 works in over 54,020 fandoms. The site has received positive reception for its curation, organization and design, mostly done by readers and writers of fanfiction.

Archive of Our Own uses Georgia for headers and the site logo, Monaco for publication timestamps (on machines where Monaco isn’t available: Consolas), and Lucida Sans for body text and buttons. The site also allows users to apply their own custom skins to the site itself and to individual works, allowing for the usage of different fonts on specific works.

In the book Working On My Novel, Cory Arcangel lists re-tweets that he posted on the Twitter account @WrknOnMyNovel.

As a meta project based on tweets talking about a book release, the release of the book is ironic, even more so as the project started with digital information. Giving them a paper format is an interesting approach.

Arcangel plays with this clash of the digital and the physical, which can provide an in-between aesthetic. On the other hand, he made a cover that does not hint at the digital aspect of the project: the title is set in a classic typeface – in this case Monotype Baskerville (as shown on the publisher’s page) and Georgia (as shown on the author’s page – possibly a mockup?) – which is very common in the world of publishing.

Editing a digital project in this way is an interesting idea, as is the choice to go through a publisher like Penguin. It’s also ironic: to propose a digital project and to illustrate the cover with a pencil drawing and a title with a black serif typeface. Arcangel never uses this kind of design, he is known for digital works and not for pencil drawings.

Studio Ping Pong worked on the rebranding of College Lab, an overseas education consultancy that specialises in student management and guides them to get admission in the college of their dreams, to stand out from the competition and gain the trust of students and parents alike.

Instead of stressing on the exam results or grades of the students, we decided to shift the focus on what College Lab does right – guiding the students to achieve their goals by honing in their individual skills. With the metaphor of a Northstar, College Lab became their shortest distance to this target. The visual identity focussed on the strengths of the students and how the company effectively nurtured each of them to help achieve their goals.

A fearless typeface (Bely Display by Roxane Gataud) accompanied by the Northstar became the brand logo, ditching the over-used symbols of books and graduation hats. Georgia (Matthew Carter) and HK Grotesk (Alfredo Marco Pradil) are used as brand fonts. The typefaces were chosen to ensure that the brand looks like a legit consultancy in a sea of boring-looking academic platforms. The idea was to stay away from standard sans-serifs and have something that is modern and characteristic. Something sturdy and solid to represent the brand's values.

Using visual metaphors like arrows (for direction), the North Star (their final goal), and stationery, we created a vibrant identity that would not only engage the students but also assure the parents.

The brand’s multiple digital and print touchpoints for onboarding students were broken down into easy-to-understand infographics and illustrations to engage young minds and ensure that education material does not need to be boring and bland to be taken seriously.

To design the visual identity of Cité Anthropocène, a French research group working on the impact of human activities on our world, Bureau 205 used CX80 designed by Damien Gautier and distributed by 205TF.

This typeface allows to combine different serifs on the same glyph. Bureau 205 has used this characteristic to propose a logotype that can be declined in different versions.

Georgia is used as a secondary typeface for body text on the stationery.

Since 2014, Swiss architecture cabinet Metron and graphic designers Baldinger•Vu-Huu have worked jointly to develop Metron’s identity. They chose the reliability and rigor of BVH Baldinger to embody the values of their cabinet. Baldinger•Vu-Huu designed the logo and lay out their annual activity report.
