Neue Aurora VIII schmalhalbfett by the C.E. Weber foundry from ca. 1960 is a reworking of Weber’s classic Aurora family in the style of Anzeigen Grotesk, Helvetica Inserat, Helvetica Ultra Compressed. The source of the Aurora family, along with many similar-to-identical faces found at European foundries (such as Wotan Grotesk, Edel Grotesk, Lessing, and Reichs Grotesk), is Wagner & Schmidt’s typeface Neue Moderne Grotesk. Shown in Jaspert in two weights, Bold Condensed and Extra Bold Condensed. The latter is very similar to Anzeigen-Grotesk, except for its straight-legged ‘R’.
