Designed by Dave Trooper for VGC. Released in the late 1960s. VGC 1976 and Phil’s Photo 1980 catalogs show three weights plus one italic. Other phototype houses offered it as Moresque (Castcraft), Mountie (Alphabet Innovations) or Times (Roman) Modern (Facsimile Fonts, with numerous swash alternates).
In 2013, Dave Trooper released a digital version (created with the help of Dennis Ortiz-Lopez) through his own foundry. It spans only one weight (Bold Display) and is disappointing in terms of glyph set and spacing. It is also different in many details, see esp. ‘i’, ‘r’ and most of the uppercase, and lacks alternates.
