Colla Paper is a Valencia-based Spanish stationery brand dedicated to analog planning and writing tools. Founded as a collaboration between the local printing workshop Impresum and the graphic design studio Estándar Estudio, the project celebrates the tactile and reflective qualities of paper in an increasingly digital world.

Its product range includes calendars, planners, notebooks, and paper goods characterized by restrained typography, functional layouts, and carefully selected materials. Produced locally in Spain, Colla Paper combines contemporary graphic design with traditional printing expertise, emphasizing clarity, durability, and the ritual of handwriting.

Across selected applications set in Massimo Grafia, the typeface’s expressive letterforms and alternate characters introduce subtle variation and personality, enriching the project’s reduced graphic language.

ZER01NE (“Zero One”) is an open innovation platform belonging to Hyundai Motor Group where different perspectives converge to create questions and find answers. ZER01NE DAY 2019 took place at Hyundai Motor Service Center, Seoul. Massimo Grafia was used for the graphics, together with what appears to be Sandoll GothicNeo for Korean text.

ZER01NE DAY 2019 presents the results of the past year as creative minds who create questions from people, society, and life concerns, start-ups that translate questions into real-life, and find answers through quick action, and connect and share various questions and answers with people-centered social values. We have developed a borderline fluid image that reflects the theme of ZER01NE DAY 2019 called “BORDERLESS in EVERYTHING,” and have worked hard to articulate the theme of the festival in preparation for an object symbolizing the engine

Website and corporate design of Förderverein Melaten e.V. The organisation aims to revitalise the burial culture in Cologne’s central cemetery, the Melaten-Friedhof. With more than 50.000 graves, it is the biggest cemetery in Cologne, Germany.

I designed the website, making heavy use of Massimo Grafia (Nice to Type) in two weights (Bold and Regular, no italics) throughout.

The business cards make a little play on the cemetery theme, showing unfinished information about the the card owner. Their name is followed by an asterisk and a birth year, as if the card is waiting to be finished with a year of death, like the list of information about people buried on the Melaten-Friedhof that can be found on the website.

Here</>There is an exhibition featuring recent design and art graduates-come-professionals, who have attended and graduated from design and art institutions in the USA and Europe. It was curated by Adrian Shaughnessy and Regular Practice. Organized in collaboration with SIA – School of International Art, it is held at the Today Art Museum in Beijing, the first private museum for contemporary art in China.

The visual identity of this exhibition is designed by Tao Lin, a Chinese Austrian designer who graduated from ZHdK in Zurich, Switzerland. Currently he works as an independent designer between Europe and Shanghai.

The design should convey both the radical creative values that each practitioner involved in the exhibition has employed in their displayed works, with contemporary, cutting-edge, innovative character. Tao Lin found a typographically solution by using Massimo Grafia by übertype, a linear grotesque with powerful hand-drawn forms. Furthermore, he removed the slash from the original title Here</>There, so that the the pair of less-than and greater-than signs is not just a symbol that points to two directions, but also a container that should be filled with different contents, like texts and images.

The Designed this way podcast is an initiative to start candid conversations with designers and other creative folks, to bring out the stories about the realities of living a creative life.
Not just the stories of courage, hard work and success but also the stories of mistakes, rejections and doubts. These wide-ranging conversations also reveal the diversity of thoughts, practices and opinions that exist in the creative world. It’s made for young creatives and such who are young at heart. It's designed this way.

The typography uses Massimo Grafia, a release by Ubertype, that comes with at least five — and for some characters with as many as fourteen — alternate letter shapes, from hyper-extended to script-like.
