Originally a custom design in a single point size for bibliophile publishing company “De Zilverdistel”, it was considered an improved version of De Roos’ Hollandsche Mediaeval. First used in 1916. Its use remained limited to five books. [Middendorp] Cut at Wagner & Schmidt, cast by Lettergieterij Amsterdam. [Reichardt]
Revived by Canada Type in 2014 as Zilvertype Pro (used for sample), extended with italic and bold styles, small caps, and a set of open initials.
