Apparently a copy of the bold weight of West Cooper Nouveau (Photo-Lettering, 1966). Differences include rounder counters (esp. in ‘o’, but also ‘abdgp’), a shorter head serif in ‘l’, and a two-sided foot serif in ‘p’. Shown in Lettergraphics’ 1968 and 1969 catalogs as Funky or Funcky, accompanied by a large set of swash alternates listed as Funky Swash or Funcky Swash. Also carried by FotoStar as Funky (caps only?). [Devroye] Shown in Castcraft’s Encyclopedia (1978) with alias Cuddles Swash (w/ lowercase and largely the same set of alternates).
The raster dots in the sample are not part of the design.
