A set of bold condensed grotesk caps with pronounced stroke contrast, possibly based on Gros Titre by Roland Schenk in 1959. In California Caps, ‘G’ has a bigger aperture, ‘Q’ bar is not centered, and ‘X’ is less squarish. Listed in Lettergraphics’ 1968 Letter-Fan. Shown in the 1969 edition with biform alternates for ‘AEMNW’, and presented as a companion to the related all-lowercase Bailey Bold.
