The iconic and often-imitated cover of Minor Threat’s 1st 7″ EP (1981, often referred to as the Filler EP) was also re-purposed in a variety of colors for their later compilations, First 2 7″s (1984, often referred to simply as Minor Threat) and Complete Discography (1990). More recent editions of the compilations feature URW’s Franklin Gothic Compressed instead of the narrower version used on the classic editions that matches more closely with ATF’s original Franklin Gothic Extra Condensed.
Though the design is not credited, it was likely executed by Jeff Nelson – a member of Minor Threat and graphic designer who produced most of their graphics.
