The cover was designed by Daniel Gil. Gil studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Madrid. In the early 1950s, he attended the Ulm School of Design, where he was a disciple of Otl Aicher. During his almost thirty years serving as art director for Alianza Editorial — from 1966 to 1992 — he produced more than 4,000 book covers.
