Soulfood is a cookbook with 68 recipes for “Real African American Cooking” collected by Sven “Katmando” Christ. It comes with a compilation featuring music by Bo Diddley, Chuck Womack & The Sweet Souls, RZA, Andre Williams and others. Published by Trikont in 2012.
The fonts used on the cover are Pinewood, a freebie digitization of Rustic No. 2, and Underware’s Sauna. The latter is also used for the book interior.

The photography really adds to the nostalgic feel. Deep focus, high contrast, obvious highlights and shadows. it’s a nice break from the shallow focus, soft everything look of so much contemporary food photography.
Looks like this cover is a clear riff on the cover of Brother Jack McDuff’s 1969 album, Down Home Style, right down to the yellow and use of Rustic No. 2:
