From Jason Liebig on Flickr:

A McDonalds sticker from the 1970's, extolling the virtues of cheeseburgers. This came to me from Australia, so I’m assuming that’s where it was originally distributed.

The type is set in Folio, using the straight-legged alternate R as offered by Bauer.

The text of the sticker transcribed:

Choosey cheese choosers always say cheese please when they choose the cheese in the cheeseburgers at McDonald’s.

Well I typed this into Google: Choosey Cheese choosers always say cheese please when they choose the cheese in the cheesebugers at McDonalds.  It took me to your site. Back in the day when i was young if you said that statement within 4 seconds McDonalds would give you a free burger.

Yeah, I remember that as a kid in the 70s. I couldn’t remember the exact amount of time you had to say it within to get the free cheeseburger, but I remember getting a few free cheeseburgers :)

I do remember the free cheeseburgers and I searched for the tongue twister in an effort to prove I wasn’t crazy in being the only one to remember. I thought for sure it would be on youtube but nope. Couldn’t find it.

  4. I remember this as I child and can say it to this day. I ask others and they think I’m crazy. I’m 57. I was beginning to think I was the only 1 to remember it

  5. I remember it too! Have been reciting it for 50 years. Try to tell it to a current MC D worker behind the counter and see how unimpressed they look lol
