Das neue Fischer Lexikon in Farbe was published in Frankfurt am Main (West Germany) in 1981. The covers of each volume are set in ITC Avant Garde Gothic, with a few of the rad-looking ligatures. My parents have the full set; unfortunately, during my last visit home, I only photographed one of the volumes … and too quickly at that!
I found out who designed this. Jan Buchholz and Reni Hinsch are credited for the covers. Typesetting was done by F.Bruckmann KG, Munich – using Times plus Plantin Bold (?) for the interior pages – and printing by Aprinta, Wemding.
