Bildmuseet is Northern Europe’s foremost contemporary art gallery, often praised for their curatorial spirit. As part of a larger urban development in its home town Umeå, the museum relocated to the controversial riverside Arts Campus. With the move also came a new identity, signed Stockholm Design Lab.

Conceptually, the goal was to create a system easy to replicate and adapt, with the inkjet printer as foremost medium. Frutiger’s OCR-B slots into a grid that creates both uniformity and vivid expression. Publico serves a supporting role as a sturdy workhorse, retaining its character both in small print and on huge walls.
