In 2011, Sasu Ripatti (alias Vladislav Delay) joined forces with German electro-surgeons Raster–Noton to release a series of two albums and one EP. The recordings feature his trademark textural dub antics, deconstructing what we expect of techno music with equal randomness and exact cuts.
For this series, Raster-Noton’s graphic magician Olaf Bender channels his most minimal side and uses all caps Gridnik, metallic and debossed on rough stocks, with the natural color intact. Each release is named after a Finnish city and municipality — Vantaa, Espoo, Kuopio — and is stamped with the respective official crest.
