Swedish rockers Bob Hund (literally Bob Dog) have carved out a cult niche in the indie landscape, much with the help of Martin Kann’s cover designs. Often humoristic, satirical and self-aware, his art reached peak Swede irony with the release of the 2011 masterpiece Det överexponerade gömstället (The Over-Exposed Hideout).
Of course, you wouldn’t really be able to tell the album title from the packaging – a white box with the note “Jag har ingen omslagsidé. Sorry, /Martin” (I have no idea for a cover. Sorry, /Martin). Different formats have different variations of the concept, ranging from a physical handwritten post-it note to jpg anti-design.
