Davison Arabesque was first shown in PLINC’s Psychedelitypes (1968) as Pyschedelitype 57362 (caps only) and 57363 (with lowercase). The cover for the second single by The Cherry People from October 1968 forms an early use of this amorphous reversed-stress typeface. In February 1969, Arabesque reappeared on another release by the psychedelic pop group from Washington, D.C.

For the German release of “Gotta Get Back (To The Good Life)”/“I’m The One Who Loves You” (Polydor, 1969) the band name in Arabesque was reused as quasi-logo and, together with the (mirrored!) band portrait, colored in with a rainbow gradient. The song titles were reset in Futura.
