Ladislav Sutnar, a Czech designer born in 1897, was a pioneer in the world of infographics and catalog layouts in the 20th century. Letterform Archive has an extensive collection of Sutnar’s work.
This brochure for Long Island-based manufacturing company, A & P Metal Products, uses Futura, a geometric sans designed by Paul Renner, and some of Sutnar’s signature geometric lettering for the “mm”. This is just one of many examples where Sutnar could package complex information and present mundane products (e.g. metal enclosures or rubber tires) as something visually striking and worth investigating.
