The title of this double LP anthology from 1968 is shown in a shaded version of Plymouth Bold. First cast by BB&S in 1901 and later known as Rugged Extra Black and Adcraft Black, this face was available from Photo-Lettering at that time. “31 Classic Performances” is in caps from Washington. Together with the heavier Columbus, it formed a pair of swash grotesques issued by the German type foundry Schelter & Giesecke in the 1890s.
