Café Weidenweber, Frankfurt
Contributed by Florian Hardwig on Dec 3rd, 2017.
Othmar Motter’s Motter Tektura appears to be popular in Frankfurt. For the logo of Café Weidenweber, its letterforms have been rounded, stretched, and kerned more than tightly. The typeface here was obviously chosen for its pretzel-shaped ‘W’ – and who likes pretzels with sharp edges?
See Matthijs’ contribution about Gradwohl Vollkornstüberl for a bakery that employs a similarly rounded take on another typeface by Motter.
