Apoc (www.blazetype.eu) in use for the ÉSAD Grenoble Valence Open doors days. Designed by Julian Lagoutte, Soléne Lautridou & Sebastian Schmitt. Poster design, flyers and the official open doors landing webpage (this might be gone in several weeks). Apoc Revelations is paired with ÉSAD’s house typeface, the sans serif Dauphine.

“The starting point of our research was to focus on the school’s spatial context: the neighborhood of Fontbarlettes. We first collected a number of graphic elements that occupy it: signs, posters, advertising, graffiti. Then we identified recurring techniques and reappropriated them in a series that mixes typographic compositions and vernacular interventions.”

Julian Lagoutte:

The typographic elements of the posters are hidden or revealed by traces initially made with spray paint, charcoal, or marker. They are included as the glyphs for m z t q in Dauphine Dings, a typeface used in the identity of the school. These glyphs evoke the mountainous territory of the region of Valence and Grenoble. Printed in risography.
