Avid uses a combination of Omnes – with its distinctively tapered terminals – and their own extensively modified version of Omnes with terminals which are more typical in a sans serif design. As a result of the changes, Avid’s modified version presents with tone that is more no-nonsense and less playful than retail Omnes. A combination of the font families and their differing but linked sensibilities are are applied across all brand touch points, from software packaging, product information sheets and print ads to trade show stands and websites. Avid usually uses the light and medium weights, set white against dark or colored backgrounds.
