  1. My font Cinema Script is based on the title credits of the film “Valdez is Coming” (1971). The credits look hand-lettered, but also very much like this script font Hunter. Perhaps it was done by a lettering artist in the style of Hunter, or perhaps Hunter was designed to imitate a popular lettering style. Anyway, long story short, and without wanting to make too brazen a plug, Cinema Script is a nice digital interpretation of this style.

  2. Hi Dave, thanks for sharing the origin of Cinema Script. I’ve added an entry for the opening titles of Valdez Is Coming. I’d say it uses Filmotype Hunter (or the VGC version), not lettering. The use of alternate glyphs might make it look hand-made. However, the similarity of repeating letters and the sometimes less than perfect joins strike me as typographic.
