RIP Bill Gold, a fabulously prolific designer of movie posters for more than sixty years (he did the poster for Casablanca!)
Mr. Gold died on May 20, 2018, at the age of 97.
He was primarily an illustrator. The obituary in The New York Times isn’t clear about who would have done the type treatment. The title is set in a bold weight of Helvetica, but with a customized circular O, perhaps to match the muzzle of the pistol.
