Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid, translated by R. P. Keigwin, read by Cathleen Nesbitt, directed by Howard Sackler. Published by Caedmon Records in 1967.

Illustration by Brooklyn artist Oraston Brooks-El (1937–) [see comments]. The title typeface is Cooper Nouveau Swash Bold, drawn by Dave West for Photo-Lettering, Inc.

  1. The cover illustration here is actually by Laura Jean Allen, and Oraston did the illustration on the back (which is signed and is different in style). Oraston was one of the top Black designers of the mid-century. Oraston was employed by Caedmon records so he probably selected the type on the front and back.
